Prince's Trust - 12 week Programme

Based at the Finnart Campus in Greenock, the The Prince's Trust 12 week programme features confidence building, team events, challenges, outdoor activities and fundraising events. You will gain practical skills and the chance to make a real difference to the community. Below is an outline of each week's activities.


Weeks 1 - 2: Getting to know you

In the first two weeks you will become acquainted as a group, complete your individual action plans and watch the 'Safe Six' video. These weeks will be very active, busy, engaging and fun.

Week 3: Residential

In week 3, you will take part in a residential week designed to build and test your team skills. You will gain confidence and a sense of responsibility to others, building successful relationships between the team, team leader and assistant team leader.

Weeks 4 - 6: Community Project

Taking part in a community project, you will carry out challenging activities, both for your personal development and to give something back to the community. Supporting each other as a team you will agree a project plan, and will develop your team work, problem solving and communication skills through research and identification of a communication project.

Weeks 7 - 8: Individual Placements

In weeks 7 and 8 you will have the opportunity to experience different types of careers in varying working environments.

Week 9: Next Steps

In week 9 you will be assisted in making decisions about your future. You will complete an SVQ in Communication and undertake an employability workshop, mock interviews, application process workshop and day trips.

Weeks 10 - 11: Final Team Challenge

During these weeks you will be involved in fundraising and preparation for a team challenge. As a team you will identify and plan a challenge which will raise funds which could be easily used to buy materials. You will again build team working skills and respect and tolerance for others.

Weeks 12: Final Presentation

In the final week there will be a final award ceremony to celebrate the team's and each individual's achievements over the 12 week programme. You will review your personal progress and skills development and be encouraged to look to the future in a positive way.
