Summary: Information about borrowing books from The Hub.

The Hub

Finding Books

Use the online public access catalogue (OPAC) to find the details of the books you wish to borrow. In the search results look for the 'Dewey number' on the book record (e.g. N155.4). The books in all our libraries are arranged by these numbers, and then alphabetically by author's surname.

Borrowing Books

Members may borrow up to 6 books for a loan period of 4 weeks, with the exception of Short Loan items which are issued on a day-to-day basis.

Users may renew loan items, in person or by telephone, provided another borrower has not requested them.

Late returns will be charged at the following rates:

  • 4 Week Loan Items: 10 pence per item per day

Members who fail to return books or pay fines will be the subject of disciplinary action.

If stock is lost or damaged, please notify Learning Services staff as soon as possible. You will be charged a portion of the cost of replacement.
