Summary: An introduction to Inverclyde S3/4 Vocational Programme as part of the Schools Partnership with James Watt College.
What is a vocational option?
- Training that gives you practical skills & knowledge
to help you get a job
- A practical qualification
- The intention is to offer a qualification equivalent
to a Standard Grade (e.g. SVQ1, SPA, Intermediate 1)
Who should apply?
- Anyone with a genuine interest in the subject
- Pupils of all abilities
- Pupils who would like to pursue a career in the chosen option
How is it delivered?
- 1/2 day per week at training location - mostly James Watt College
in S3 & S4
- Introductory course in June
- Equipment is provided
- Support arrangements
- 1 additional period in school per week
- Transport is provided
- Health and Safety Checks
- These will be in addition to the pupils’ eight Standard Grade Options.
Timetabling arrangements will be discussed with parents once they
are confirmed.
